Our Standards
The expectations every TSVC verified contractor agrees to uphold.
Workmanship Expectations
Verified contractors commit to delivering work that meets a reasonable, professional standard. This includes using appropriate materials, following industry best practices, completing agreed scope, and ensuring work is fit for purpose. Where work is found to fall significantly below acceptable standards, TSVC may review the contractor's verification status.
Communication Expectations
Clear and timely communication is essential. Verified contractors are expected to provide realistic timelines, respond to messages within a reasonable period, keep customers informed of delays or changes, and explain technical decisions in plain language.
Transparent Pricing Expectations
Customers should receive clear, written quotations before work begins. Any changes to cost must be communicated and agreed in advance. Hidden fees, unexplained charges, and retrospective pricing adjustments are not consistent with TSVC standards.
Complaint Response Expectations
When a customer raises a concern, verified contractors are expected to acknowledge it promptly, investigate fairly, and offer a reasonable resolution. Ignoring complaints, becoming hostile, or refusing to engage is not acceptable under TSVC standards.
Respect for Customer Property
Contractors working in a customer's home or premises must treat the property with care. This includes protecting surfaces, minimising disruption, cleaning up after work, and reporting any accidental damage immediately.
Evidence and Documentation
Verified contractors should maintain appropriate records including written agreements, scope of work, payment records, and completion confirmations. Good documentation protects both the contractor and the customer.
Professional Conduct
TSVC expects all verified contractors to conduct themselves professionally. This includes punctuality, courtesy, respecting customer boundaries, and maintaining appropriate behaviour on site at all times.
